NetMeeting's real-time audio features let you talk to other people over the Internet. Version 3.01 offers many new features and enhancements. The program now has a Web-based Internet directory, and a smaller, task-based user interface that can be embedded in a Web page via an ActiveX control. Also, shared programs now appear in new windows on your desktop and can be resized or minimized. NetMeeting calls can now be placed to telephones and videoconferencing systems through the use of gateways or gatekeepers. Another new feature is Remote Desktop Sharing, which allows you to access and use one computer from another by sharing the desktop.
